About Us
Pintler Costumes and Technologies was named after the Pintler Mountain Range in Montana where the founder, Tony Johnson, grew up. These mountains became inspiration for Tony as he began development for his own costume studio back in 2022. Just like the majestic wilderness of the Pintlers, costume techniques and technologies have plenty of unexplored territories. With the increasingly short build timelines and rarely expanding costume budgets, costumes for live performance are being limited to the valleys because it's easier and simpler to traverse the established trails by the river. At Pintler Costumes and Technologies, we believe that we shouldn’t wait for an “appropriate project” to invest in innovation and explore what the mountains have to offer. Our mission is to use traditional and modern techniques and technologies to help costume teams bring their visions to life timely, efficiently and on budget.
-Phase One is to establish our base camps in the valley with our costume construction studio assisting folks from flat drawings to breathing characters by offering services of measurements, fittings, alterations and costume construction.
-Phase Two will begin with the exploration of what costumes can be and how modern techniques and technologies can be used to aid in production. During this exploration process we will use the costume construction studio to assist in the exploration and provide the testing ground for our potential discoveries.
-Phase Three will incorporate our discoveries into products and techniques to offer clients and fellow artisans to aid in their climbs up their mountains. As we start to form routes to the peaks, we will continue exploring and pushing what other discoveries these mountains have to offer. There is always a new peak to summit.
